Not dead yet...
May. 20th, 2007 08:14 pm..just been keeping busy, and will probably continue in the same vein for some weeks more. Among other things, am trying to plan renovations of my flat (will probably have all the windows changed next week), and there is a relatively high likelihood that I might one day get my PhD done after all. Not on the original topic, quite, but what the heck. After 7 years of non-funded scrambling on my lonesome, I'll take what I can get.
I have booked tickets to Vancouver (yay!) for the HLWW8, and I have a place in a hotel room for the duration of the con and a bit beyond, but I will most likely need a place to stay for three more days (I'll be flying over on 3rd and leaving on 11th and the room I have a place in is booked only up to the 8th of Oct). Anyone have any good advice for me? Also, are there people on my flist who are going to be there and not go on the con tour? I am not, I planned to explore on my own, but it'd be really great to have some company.
I'm resolutely not fretting over spending money on Vancouver. Dammit, one should have fun now and then:).
dresta11 has moved to Saaremaa, has managed to get the internet connection working in the farm and is complaining about bored cats. Especially one of them. And in maybe 2-3 weeks I'll have to transport my horse over there. Pihv will likely love it - lots of grazing, his own mare and foal and nothing to do all days long...
There might be exciting stuff brewing on the work front, namely a quite real chance to go back to practice within a year, perhaps. Mmm. *knockonwood* And the busy-busy-busy starts again tomorrow...so I still have some hours left for lazing around. And there is summer outside, with a considerable chunk of it pouring in from the open windows. *puts on Buffy and lies back with a beer*
