Let it snow...

There is snow. A lot of snow. There is more snow coming. Is rather nice, takes mind off some pesky RL stuff. Though I wonder how I'm gonna get to work tomorrow morning - it's been snowing since last night and will continue to do so through tonight at least, and there have been storm warnings, houses losing electricity, traffic jams and stuff. Thank the universe that I live in a town and can walk to work.
*contemplates blizzard through the window while cuddled in bed with two dogs and three cats and watches Stargate*

It's been snowing on and off since Friday and it is rather lovely. Though, like you, I'm not looking forward to the commute tomorrow! And the ski resorts started opening this weekend, too!

Well, by now most of it has melted - we very rarely get the snow to stay before the end of December. But apparently this time broke the Nov snowfall record that was standing since 1965, so, yeah. Most places got at least 30ish cm-s and one place got 65 and there was lot of grinding of teeth and shoveling of snow and losing of electricity. But nobody died, which is good, and I got to work fine, and all in all it was all nice and snow-y.
IMO there was too much ado about nothing, I mean, if you have gotten storm warning with dire suggestions NOT to go on trips or outside on a certain day for like, 3 days advance, then you are a moron who deserves what they get if you do venture out without any pressing need and get snowed in in your damn car. Sheesh. Also, I kept hearing people on radioncall it a 'catastrophe' and I kept yelling ' Catastrophe is when a hurricane floods entire city or some equivalent thereof, you idjits! Have you ever thought to check on the map where you live???? Seems winter comes unexpectely these times, every and each year... Might be we've got problems with short-term memory now, as a nation *grins*.
Right now we're back to + 4 C and mud. I miss snow.
