Now I'm stealing memes...

Ask me a question, personal, fandom, fic. If you've ever had a burning desire to know something, now's your chance. However I do reserve the right to reply with a silly answer if the real answer would be too TMI (or if I a can't come up with any real answer).
P.S. If the question is "When the hell will you stop the memespam and do/write something of interest/usefulness?", then, um, the honest answer is, "I don't know. But hope springs eternal."
On a random note, I've bought a very cheap guitar and an accord handbook. I blame a)the fact that there is an online quitar school available here; b)that the nice girls form the folk music academy managed to teach even me three basic accords on a local zither in less than half an hour and c)possibly, I am becoming more and more insane as I grow older, also, less with the "I cannot" and more with the "Bring 'em on!" attitude.

Date: 2007-06-23 06:25 pm (UTC)Estonia is about the same size as Denmark (ca 45,000 sq km), but we have much less people here - about 1,3 million. Which is good, I think, because we're far from a touchy-feely type of people:). On the other hand, our highest point is higher than Denmarks - a whopping 314 m above the sea level *g* - and it's called the Big Egghill.
There are about one million people who have Estonian as their first language, and I think we're the smallest nation in the world to have university-level education in our own language. We're also probably one of the most "internetisized" countries - at least half of the households have internet, and most people do their banking, tax forms, voting and whatever else online. But iTunes still doesn't think we're here, morons *g*.
Our biggest city has a population of a bit less than half a million and has one of the best preserved middle-age old towns in Europe - luckily, Russian bombs only destroyed a very small part of it during the war.
We have a lot of forest and swamps, which are beautiful, though personally my favourite is the nature along the west coast, with junipers and coast grasslands.
We have several weird letters added to the normal latin alphabet, and fourteen cases. People here tend to heart skiing and basketball as sports to watch. And we have this strange tradition where tens of thousands of people come together to sing and dance - song and dance festivals. One is coming up in a few weeks, and I think every town in Estonia has its own song festival ground with a dais. Even the breaking free of USSR was called the Singing Revolution. *shrugs* me, I'm tone deaf, and hate skiing *g*, so, not really the best example specimen.
Right now, it's the Midsummer Eve here - and that is as big celebration here as Christmas and New Year. And due to the geographical latitude, well, lets just say that the nights are very short right now. And the nightingales keep yammering, though this year, the summer has progressed much faster than usually. So there were first ripe raspberries in the garden yesterday, as I discovered ... mmmmm.
