This being the stream-of-conciousness ramblings while watching the Russian version of The Source...

On the plus side, I actually like the dark tones and the music is quite superb.
I don't even mind any of the costuming choices, just having Duncan and Methos back looking so yummy is a treat enough. Even a Methos with weird orange glasses. He-hee.

And have to admit that Methos in a research mode and Mac in a brooding mood are evocative cliches images for a fannish delight.

That said, I think the continuity and logic thing reminds me of a bad Matrix remake on acid.
Also, the Guardian character is just ridiculous, complete with icky weird 'superpowerfastmovement' scenes.

And Oh My FUCKING HELL, why, oh why does the major angst have to be hung on one demented babe's desire to BREED??

Couldn't they find a child in Lithuania who speaks Russian with a better accent?
*sighs* And they blew up the Vilnius TV tower. Though, have to admit, it was pretty spectacular explosion.

Awwww, Joe. Love that Methos has apparently been in close contact with Joe. Love the meeting between Joe and Duncan, and Duncan and Methos. Also the comment Reggie made on Methos looking good in leather *grins*.

Um.Um.Um. The Abbot? I wonder, does someone from the production team have an unholy fascination with cowpat?

*plainitive* and why are they looking for that wacky Source anyways??

*sigh' Visions. Right. Is Duncan cursed to be messed around in plots involving hallucinating vision-haunted women and weird half-supernatural figures?

And as to Joe's death, well, the scene and the dialogue were good, but I really cannot see that they made it worth it in the plot run. To me, it seems more like that they needed to kill the obvious mortal choice, so...

The interactions between Joe and Duncan and Methos are good and powerful, but it just feels like pearls strung together by a very shitty thread, intermixed with plastic baubles. My dreams have better constancy of quality than this.

Methos goading Mac...well, strong. I expect lots of good vids and fics :)

That said, that Princes of the universe montage? WTF? I mean, they've got a movie with a plot that has not been explained properly, yet they insert a filler kinda montage?? Not that I complain about teh pretteh, but..yeah.

OT: I guess it's the shooting location (the landscape and the architecture) that gives me the weird feeling that somehow Duncan and Methos and Joe have plopped up in my home and that has to account for the choppiness of it all, because that has to be a hallucination and hallucinations are allowed to be choppy, no? *gg*

I might like Reggie. "When people think you're a bit of a cabbage, they might underestimate you." Sounds Methos-y.

And, as a statement, I wouldn't even mind Duncan having a pretty tortured love interest, I'd just like it to be logical, built up to, not that we're just given this girl and asked to just hug her and squeeze her and call her the one for Duncan.

*coff* Is it porn when you foresee sex in your minds eye?

You know, I'd preferred they'd used the time for explaining the plot, not the gratuitous making out in the woods.

And the Guardian annoys me.

Which is irritating. Because I have certain expectations when it comes to villains. Even more than when it comes to heroes. And the ones that make noise like jackadaws and chatter madly while running too fast are just not gonna cut it.

Well, I know Ewoks don't quite look like desperate biker rogues in leather, but to me that scene in the woods reminded a certain other movie*eg*.

And while I admire PW acting, I'm not really sure Methos would be the one to speak for christian values.

Hmm, that being close to the Source making them mortal thing...I wonder if it 'wears off' again when they go away?

AWWWWW@Duncan-Methos *I need someone to watch my back-You'll trust me?-You'll do.*
Fighting scenes are quite nice.

And so he rides away. *You're such an asshole-I never said I was deep*. Heh. Source or no source, in my infinity of fannish worlds Methos ditches those clumsy hungry leather-ewoks and sits back in some comfy hideout, keeping eye on Mac until he's finished with his current charity project a.k.a. Anna's child.

You know, this looks like a cheesy depiction of the holy spirit coming down on another poor mortal unsuspecting woman. So they were so outta ideas they had to make a fanfic outta Joseph, Mary and Jesus-child??

And the computer-hyped fighting doesn't draw me. sorry.
You know, if TPTB really think that what draws fen is mixing computer games with silly plotlessness and culminating it all with a child as an answer to everything...well, it makes me afraid. Even more afraid if they are right.

Yeah. Visuals quite pretty. As expected, interaction between AP, PW and JB delicious. Music, good. Plot and character motivations - nonexistent. Villains - an insult to the term.

I guess I'll go with Pat on this - OPTH is taken to having weird nightmares after TB/NTB and Methos has to shush him out of them.

Well, it could've been worse. I didn't have high expectations anyway. Just, I feel sorry for DA. The original scriptwriters should be lynched.

Thanks for the review. I'm blaming this nightmare on Methos. Duncan had the Endgame one. As he's running through the woods with the bad things after him, he wakes up shaking, covered with a cold sweat. Duncan takes him in his arms and kisses it all better. And I haven't even seen it yet.

Wow, did the icky hat guy just say "foreplay" to Duncan, or am I manufacturing better dialog in my mind?
