...like today.
The wonderful, talented, generous, fabulous beeej has made me this beaaauutiful banner for lj with Methos, Duncan, Amanda and Joe . I am so happy, so happy...isn't it pretty?
I'm fighting with S2 at present to get it to show on my lj...damn, I'm gonna get myself through some HTML tutorials first thing when I get some free minutes! (At school we only learned programming in basic, and it was a loong time ago *g*).

And to add some more goodness...I was able to get away from work to attend a bharata natyam (indian temple dance) workshop with the teacher who originally draw me to this...she is simply fabulous - I've never seen anyone else who can be so joyous and glad while dancing, and at the same time she just conveys the joy to all who are present. And she's teaching us the pantomime ABC from the start...and 3 new dances..and...oh, I'm just sooo happy!

ETA: And I finally managed to reach the same wavelength with the lj and install the banner to it's proper place. Yay!

Oh..my bad! It should be viewable now!
I'm just having a hrad time with lj, so far I've tried 2 ways of getting the banner up, first just using the customization button and then by creating a new theme layer, but it seems to hold a grudge and is not working...Maybe the problem is the image url, I'll try to upload it somewhere else, but I won't manage it tonight...*sighs*there are sooo many new things I'd love to learn, it just irks me that there are only 24 hours a day *g*

Gorgeous! I can't do anything complicated on lj at all. I have yet to figure out how to sort pics on my lj scrapbook, or get a pic from my scrap book onto my lj. Comforting to know that others are struggling with some stuff on lj too.

This temple dancing reminds me of this belly dancing class I took - such fun!

This lj stuff is really interesting..and I'm having hard time keeping myself away from it, it's just nice to play...though sometimes it can be soo irritating *g*.
Oh, you've done belly dancing? Nice, that was what I tried first...not that I got far or anything...but it kind of draw me along to try some hatha yoga (but unfortunately I've too little patience for it...have to grow up more, I guess) and then into bharata natyam and some tai chi...but I'm just in the beginning, some dabbling in it for about a year and a half...but I enjoy it enormously. *sigh' sometimes I wish I could have an independent income that would allow me to cut my professional worktime by half and devote the rest to fooling around and learning new things..but don't we all? *ggg*

Thanks...I tried this before, but unfortunately it did not work. With the instructions you provided, I can manage to make the lj empty the place where the banner should be, but it is still showing only blank background there. I'm sure I must be missing something somewhere...it's just acting like it's covering the banner with the background colour, but I can't find any place to tweak it.
Excuse me for a stupid question, but can I use the url you provided or should I definitely upload the image to somewhere else (I thought that maybe the lj is having the problem with the url)?

I'm not sure about imageshack's usage for things like this. You might try hosting it at photobucket. I know that a lot of people use it for their banners. I host my mood theme there, and I know that works. Or, you could host it on LJ if you have a paid account. They allow you a lot of space for uploading photos, and that's where my banner and lots of other things are posted.

Yep, I've tried it with the url from lj scrapbook (I do have a paid account). It still leaves the free room for the banner and then shows only the background colour. At least I know now that the scrapbook url should work. Grrrr...
