Home sweet home
After an admittedly educational, but rather tiring period spent living in a metal box (why on earth should anyone want to model a hotel room upon a ship cabin???), eating sandwitches..sandwitches..sandwitches...and cramming clinical trial design into my head it is tremendously good to be back at home in my own bed, not to mention that I've missed my assorted furballs. I have reached a conclusion that the presence of at least one cat in bed is essential for the best quality sleep.
I did have a chance to catch up on my reading though, and finished 8and thoroughly enjoyed) both D.Gabaldon's 'A Breath of Snow and Ashes' and 'Deep Survival' by L.Gonzales - that one was fascinating, I need to reread it soon.
Only a week left before starting at the new job...huh, I'm gonna be soo busy next week cleaning up all the loose ends here. And there's some translation work...and there are the fic challenges I have signed up for *cough*...and I really should be doing something with those other half-baked and unfinished snippets and stuff on my hard drive...and my computer's hard drive.
Also, spring is definitely coming. The little pesky birds are screaming their heads off in the morning murk, and the mornings are lighter. Yay! less than 3 weeks until Leeds - and in UK it will definitely be more spring-like than here! Of course, next day after returing from Leeds there will be the second part of the NOVA PhD course in Norway...so definitely an exercise in acclimatisation in various zones for me *g*. And there is the course assignment, butI am procrastinating presently I'll look at that on Monday when I have a day off.
