So sorry for your loss. Big or small, they grab our hearts and run off with them, don't they? My elderly cat, she of the white ears, is going to break my heart one of these fine days. She'll join the rest of my cats and one dog on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge (some say the Bifröst) to wait for me. Not a bad way to spend eternity, I think, with all the pets we've had.
Thank you :) Yeah, they bring so much happiness, and then they inevitably die one day. I've had this slow erosion of my 'zoo' those last three years - older dog, two younger cats, now the horse and my oldest cat is going on 19 and will not make it to 20 (she's an inoperable tumor, but manages well atm, so it's just the wait and enjoy the days you can time)...and the younger dog is 8. It's the way it is, but sometimes it kind of grinds on you, you know? We tend to talk about the rainbow for the pets too, but personally, I like the image of the Cafe at the End of the Universe - there is an awesome local rock song about meeting your (dead) friends one day in a cafe at the end of the universe ( https://youtu.be/F1oT6luUxPY ), and it's always kinda overlaid with the idea from the Hitchhiker's Guide for the Galaxy for me :) I mean, I'm an atheist/agnostic, I can imagine whatever I want :)
Yeah, I know. In the last five years, I've lost two of my three cats, one quite young, and this one will be my last.
I rather like the notion of a Cafe at the End of the Universe. I'd pictured a picnic with full tables, everyone welcome. When we're atheist/agnostic, we can imagine whatever we want. :)
